The Teen years are when youngsters are:
- either at their most active, finding out about sports and activities that they will enjoy through out their lives
- or chose to assert their independence by giving up any physical activities which extends beyond their finger tips.
For this age group poor vision and/or spectacles are often a reason for giving up sport. Those teen-agers who enjoy or can be persuaded to carry on with sport will be much happier replacing their spectacles with contact lenses, even if these are only worn for sporting activities.
Many VI teens can participate in activities with full-sighted teens. Anyone who can't or wants to compete at National or International levels should contact .British Blind Sport for advice and local clubs.
